"I would rather die on my feet than live on my knees." -Charles Hamilton Houston
This quote relates to the human rights where they said that all humans are equal and should not be made into slaves no matter what kind or race, gender, ethnic group, or any other. Also this quote seems to be saying that Houston will not live as a slave and would rather die than be in that position. I drew out this conclusion by looking at the quote where it said, 'live on my knees' which means living on a lower position. I chose this quote as it significantly shows that they are rejecting to being a slave.
The author of this quote is a lawyer who graduated from Harvard law review and he was interested in human rights particularly civil rights in The United States. He lived during 1895-1950. He mainly fought for the racial segregation as a colored person.
